After trying more than 50 rose-gold shadows, Hannah Chody helped Saie create Bellini, a permanent shade inspired by a discontinued favorite.

Hannah Chody’s Saie Bellini Eyeshadow Brings Her Search for Golden Peach to a Close

Saie’s Bellini eyeshadow began with a shade Hannah Chody couldn’t replace. The shimmery rose gold, created with the beauty creator after more than two years of searching for a match to Tom Ford Beauty’s discontinued Golden Peach, sold out within hours of its October 15 launch. It now joins Saie’s SuperSuede Baked Eyeshadows as a permanent shade, an unusual outcome for a creator collaboration.

Bellini’s quick sellout points to the appeal of a product with a built-in story: a familiar color, a persistent search and a creator involved in shaping the result. Business of Fashion reported that Saie was the most searched-for brand on Sephora’s site on launch day; Sephora confirmed Saie was among its top-searched brands. The publication also reported that a Bellini gift set on TikTok Shop allegedly set a platform record for unit sales by a featured brand. A TikTok representative declined to confirm that claim.

A discontinued shade becomes a long-running search

Chody’s project started with a favorite she believed was still available. On March 4, 2023, she posted a TikTok video praising Golden Peach as “the absolute perfect color” that “looks good on everyone and lasts forever.” A follower’s comment alerted her that the shadow had been discontinued. Chody bought two more pots, then began looking for a replacement.

She introduced the search series on August 8, 2023, testing two early contenders. Hourglass Voyeur Eyeshadow Stick in Prism had a cool rose-gold tone but wasn’t pink enough for her. Sisley Paris Ombre Eclat Liquide Eyeshadow in shade 3 leaned pink rose, but Chody found it too sparkly and short on copper. Those differences show how specific the target was: the right balance of rose, bronze and shimmer mattered as much as the general color family.

The search grew as viewers suggested new options and brands sent products. Chody also paid for possible dupes herself, taking Golden Peach swatches to Sephora and Ulta to compare shades in person. She tried more than 50 rose-gold shadows over two years, though she didn’t film every test. The series gained momentum toward the end of 2023 and into early 2024, she told Allure, as audience recommendations and new launches kept the search going.

Why the formula mattered as much as the color

Saie wasn’t the first brand to approach Chody. A smaller company proposed working together in early 2024, but she didn’t feel connected to the brand, and the shadow she sampled wasn’t a favorite. If she was going to attach her name to a product, she wanted a real hand in its development. “It was really important to me that it was not only getting the color that I wanted, but a formula that I really loved,” she said.

Her first hope had been for Tom Ford Beauty to bring back Golden Peach. Chody says she spoke with the team and attended the brand’s fashion week party, but after around 18 months of discussing the shade online, she became less optimistic that a return was coming.

Saie reached out in fall 2025, two years after the search began, with a collaboration that put Chody in the process from the start. Within a month, she traveled to the brand’s lab outside Milan. The team worked with Saie’s SuperSuede Baked Eyeshadow formula, which was still about a year from its market release, and spent several days refining the color. The formula was already settled, so the work focused on adjustments: a little less shimmer, a little more bronze.

Chody usually gravitated toward cream shadows, but she found Saie’s powder easy to work with. She was also intrigued by the low-and-slow baking process, which takes 12 hours and gives the shadow its creamy feel and long wear, she said. The finished shade, Bellini, is a shimmery rose gold named to fit the Italian theme of Saie’s eyeshadow shades.

What Chody tried—and what she wants to revive next

Even after Bellini was finalized, Chody kept testing rose-gold shadows and posting about them. She wasn’t worried that she might find a dupe before launch; she felt confident in what she and Saie had made. Her last video in the search series, posted October 1, featured Armani Beauty Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadow in 20S and 27S.

Among the closest alternatives she found were RMS cream shadow in Luster, several pink shades from Armani Beauty and a Make Up For Ever eye shadow crayon. Still, Chody says none takes the place of Golden Peach itself. That distinction matters: a successful match can bring back the look and feel of a beloved shade, while a new collaboration gives a creator room to tune the color and formula to their own preferences.

Chody says the process gave her greater appreciation for the work involved in creating both formulas and shades. She isn’t sure whether another collaboration is ahead, but she’s enjoyed the experience. Her next possible revival idea is a teal-green Chantecaille eyeliner she remembers loving because it made her green eyes shine. She wants to do more research before pursuing it. For now, Bellini turns a long-running search into a lasting addition to Saie’s eyeshadow line—and leaves Chody with a new shade to chase.
